Welcome to my website, an on-line vehicle to house and share some of my stories publicly. I want to read your constructive criticism, your ideas, your cliche alerts, and the like. I’ll take any feedback concerning what works well, too.
I have enjoyed creating an imaginative world through story-writing and adding the imaginary to real events. Click on any of the pages above to read works in progress. This is just a sliver of my growing corpus.
As I continue to write, certain themes recur and seem to center upon my troubled relationship to religion, melancholic nostalgia, finding meaning in mediocrity, and anything involving the quirky, the morbid and, sometimes, the exalting. I have drawn great inspiration from William Faulkner, John Steinbeck, and Annie Dillard’s slice-of-life narrative.
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, an underdog city that is the nation’s “armpit” to some, but fertile soil for me. It was there that I learned to appreciate the importance of place in shaping one’s personality. It was there where I indulged in great music, the arts, historic cemeteries, water skiing and summer bike rides alongside the Erie Canal. These days, I thrive in the exalting Colorado landscape with my philosopher-husband and spritely canine son, King Oberon.
